Pickup dates add a date picker to your deposit widget. The date the buyer picks is saved on the Shopify order and shown in Orders & balances. You can also charge the balance a set number of days before that date.
There are two ways to offer dates:
From dates you publish: you list the days you can hand orders over. Each day can have a time window and a limit on how many orders it takes. When a day is full, buyers can't pick it.
Buyers pick their own date: a calendar for events, rentals or delivery days that differ for every customer.
Where to find it
Depositly → Purchase options → your offer → After the order → Pickup dates → Let buyers choose a pickup date
How to set it up (dates you publish)
Open your offer and go to After the order.
Turn on Let buyers choose a pickup date.
Under How buyers choose the date, pick From dates you publish.
Click Add date for each day. Add a time, a Max orders limit and a Note if you need them.
Turn on Required so checkout is blocked until a date is chosen.
Click Save.
How to set it up (buyers pick their own date)
Turn on Let buyers choose a pickup date.
Under How buyers choose the date, pick Buyers pick their own date.
Set the Earliest date (how much notice you need) and the Latest date (how far ahead buyers can book).
Tick the Days you're closed.
Turn on Required and click Save.
Charge the balance before the date
Go to Offer terms → Balance due date.
Choose A number of days before the pickup date and enter the days, for example 7.
On After the order, set the Earliest date to at least the same number of days. Otherwise the balance could be charged right after checkout.
Optional: click Grant permission under pickup dates. Depositly can then update the order's payment terms, so buyers see the exact charge date in their account and emails. Without it, the balance is still charged on time, but the date buyers read is approximate.
Good to know
Pickup dates work on product page and cart offers.
The pickup date shows on the order in Shopify admin. It isn't in Shopify's order confirmation email by default. You can add it by editing that email template in Shopify.
If a customer wants a different date after ordering, add the new date to the order notes in Shopify.
