Translate storefront text

Show the widget and split payment text in each of your store's languages.

The Translations page lets you translate everything buyers see from Depositly: the deposit widget, the cart widget, checkout plan names, the Split Payment popup and the customer portal. You can translate by hand or click Auto-translate.

Buyers see the language they're browsing your store in.

Where to find it

Depositly → Translations

How to translate the standard text

  1. Go to Translations.

  2. Choose a language. You only see languages your store publishes in Shopify.

  3. Click Auto-translate to fill in missing fields, or type your own.

  4. Check the preview on the right.

  5. Click Save.

How to translate your own offer text

If you typed your own wording in an offer, like a custom title or payment plan name, that text wins over the standard translations. Translate it separately:

  1. Go to Translations.

  2. Under What are you translating?, choose Offer texts.

  3. Pick your offer and a language.

  4. Click Auto-translate, or type the translations.

  5. Click Save. Repeat for each language.

You can also do this from the offer: Customize → Translations.

Good to know

  • Keep variables like {date} in the text. They're replaced with real values on your store.

  • To add a language, publish it in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages first.

  • Shopify's own checkout terms paragraph isn't translated here. See Edit the checkout text.

  • To change the language of the Depositly admin, go to Settings → Language & direction.
