What is Depositly?

Depositly lets your customers pay part of an order now and the rest later.

What it does

Depositly gives you two ways to take payments in parts.

Deposits (Purchase options)

The buyer pays a deposit at checkout, for example 20%. The rest is paid later. Depending on your setup, the balance is:

  • charged to the card saved at checkout on a date you choose,

  • sent to the buyer as an invoice, or

  • paid in person, for example in cash when they collect.

Use deposits for pre-orders, made-to-order work, bookings and layaway.

Split payments

One order is paid through several invoices. It can be one buyer paying over time, or several people each paying their share. Split payments work with any payment provider, because each part is paid through a Shopify invoice.

You can also create split orders yourself from the app, for example for phone orders.
